This course provides graduate-level knowledge and skills regarding key constructs and research findings related to motivation in learning over the lifespan and their application to practice in formal and informal educational contexts.
Principles of test construction and item analysis. Survey of standardized tests of intelligence, achievement, aptitude, vocational interest, attitudes, and personality.
Introduction to theories of learning and related research from an applied educational psychology perspective. Includes evaluation of models and approaches that apply theory and research related to cognition, affect and emotions, motivation, behavioral perspectives, mediated/ situated/collaborative learning, and cognitive education.
This course provides graduate-level knowledge and skills about the dynamics of change in educational settings for an internal or external change agent. It also provides strategies for serving as a facilitator of the social construction of knowledge, whether a teacher/instructor or a leader of change with colleagues.
