Undergraduate Transfer Admissions

Whether you are looking to advance in your current career or planning to enter a new industry, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has a variety of undergraduate online program options for those looking to complete a bachelor’s degree or a certificate. Furthermore, professional undergraduate programs, such as those through the College of Nursing and the College of Social Work, enable graduates to meet state of Tennessee licensure requirements in the respective fields, while preparing out-of-state students with rigorous best industry practices.  

Undergraduate programs at UT enable students with transfer credits two-year associate degrees from an approved accredited colleges to earn their bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Each program may require different types of transfer credit for admissibility. For students transferring in an associate degree, both Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees typically offer the highest level of transferability. Currently, all distance education undergraduate programs through UT Knoxville focus on programs that build on the foundation of an associate degree. Acceptable associate degrees depending on program requirements include the following: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA), and Associate of Science in Teaching (AST). Undergraduate certificate programs may not require an associate degree but may have other prerequisites.

International Admissions

Do you want to secure a degree or certificate from an accredited state university in the USA with notable instructors and world-class programs? The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has a selection of asynchronous and synchronous degrees and certificates from which to choose. 

Applications for international students are accepted each semester. Make sure to note the admission deadlines for international students and check the admission requirements for international students in the Graduate School or Undergraduate Admissions, whichever applies. Also check the requirements for the specific program to which you are applying. Please note, demonstration of English proficiency is required at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and certain programs may have additional admission requirements. 

Once your application has been submitted, check your iVols Portal frequently for communications from the university for additional material requests required to facilitate the admissions decision.
