School Library Information Specialist
Program Overview
This graduate certificate is designed for students who already possess a master’s degree from an American Library Association-accredited program in Information and/or Library Science. Alongside successful completion of the School Librarian Praxis exam and the edTPA for School Libraries or an alternative assessment, completing this certificate will prepare students to work as a school librarian in a PreK-12 setting in Tennessee and other states. The student who completes the program will obtain a Tennessee teaching license and the Pre-K-12 endorsement for school librarianship.

Admission Requirements
- Master’s Degree in library or information sciences from a program accredited by the American Library Association
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
- 400-700 word written statement on career objectives
- 3 letters of recommendation from 3 persons qualified to judge academic and/or professional qualities
