What is Non-Degree Enrollment?

Non-degree enrollment is a flexible way to engage in advanced study without applying to a full degree program. Our online courses allow non-degree students to:

  • Earn transferable college credit*
  • Complete prerequisites or stay on track for graduation**
  • Explore a potential major before formally applying
  • Learn alongside degree-seeking students in fully online classes

Courses follow the same academic standards as our degree programs and are taught by University of Tennessee’s university faculty.

*Credit transfer is determined by the student’s home institution.
**Some courses have prerequisites that must be met before registration. If a prerequisite prevents enrollment, contact the department offering the course. You can find the department under “View Catalog Entry” in the course information.
