How Do Credits Transfer Through the Tennessee Transfer Pathway?
The Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP) program helps students move from Tennessee community colleges to four-year universities. These pathways are broad and allow you to transfer to several institutions, but they might not include every course required by the University of Tennessee. As part of this program, UT offers a direct and organized way to transfer credits from all 13 Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) community colleges. With the 2+2 model, you start as a junior and have a clear plan from your first transferred credit to graduation.
How does my associate’s degree transfer?
Students who have earned an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA), or Associate of Science in Teaching (AST) degree from a regionally accredited institution will have fulfilled UT’s general education requirements. This applies to both in-state and out-of-state community college transfer students.
How long does it take to receive an admission decision?
The University of Tennessee typically issues an admission decision within four weeks of receiving your completed application and all required transcripts. Submitting transcripts from every college or university you’ve attended, as early as possible, helps keep your application on track.
Which Tennessee Community Colleges Partner

To see how your specific courses might transfer, review the course equivalency tables. UT also recommends keeping syllabi for any courses listed as lower-division (LD) or upper-division (ED) elective credit on your school’s equivalency table, since those may help support a more accurate review.
